This Wonderful Ride

I sit here in silence and take it all in
The light in her eyes, the smell of her skin
And the days come and then go by
So quickly they fade in a blink of an eye
And it's plain to see life isn't the same
When I watch this girl I gave my name
She smiles, and laughs and takes it all in
And someday I'll be happy to do it again
But right now I'm content to sit by her side
And simply enjoy this wonderful ride
